| Stop One: The Blue Ridge Mountains well .. there is only one way to describe this entire vacation: very pretty, but very boring. nothing like the mountains of New Jersey ... except that both of them are mountains. it was one of those places that was nice, but you wouldnt want to go back. there was just nothing to do, and no people. actually, it kinda freaked me out. the first night we got there we drove around and ended up in this town. but ... no one was there. all empty and dark (well it was around sunset) houses ... weird. the mountains were pretty though ... we drove around them, hiked a bit (where the pics are from the waterfall and the mountain tops, etc come from) and went horse backriding. wow, the trail that we went on, i swear could have been a place right out of Lord of the Rings. unfortunately, no cameras. so lookig back, it wasnt a bad trip ... i think i would go back again, but only if i stayed someplace where there were more people ........ Stop Two: Williamsburg actually we stopped around Richmond before WIlliamsburg because we stopped at Monticello. it was BEAUTIFUL there!!! but my mother has all the pics from that, so if i get around to stealing them then i will put them up here. lovely place. anyway ... the bulk of the pictures are from Colonial Williamsburg, as that was my reason for going on this vacation. if you put you mouse over the pic, a *short* description should come up. we also met up with my Uncle and his son, so those are the other ones in the pics. the other pictures are from Busch Gardens. Was very nice there and was my second time. we also went to the water park, but i wasnt having a good day, so yeah. didnt really enjoy myself too much. and we went to Yorktown one evening (again). but it was fun and a good place to run around. :) oh yes, the costumes, quickly. I made mine and my sisters (see more about that here) and my brothers. matthew wanted to be a pirate, and john wanted to be Will Turner from Pirates of the Caribbean ... so i improvised. no patterns, and did it like the night before we left. haha ... always leave things to the last minute, or they never get done. didnt know that cousin adam was coming or i would have had time to make him something also. just tied a sash around his waist and drew on a mustache ... and he was fine. went back the next day and mother bought us hats. very lovely, and a wonderful gift. |
