Amy's Dirndl
11.16.06
Another dress that was done back in September, but I'm only now getting around to putting pics up and yeah.

I think that this one went together pretty painlessly, although Amy might tell you a different story (she did most of the sewing and cutting, I think she was just using me for my sewing crazyness. It has 3 pieces, the blouse, skirt, and bodice. Amy was awesome and matched all of the pieces so they look incredible.
The blouse was pretty straighforward, didn't use a pattern, just took some measurements and went from there. We used some pattern for the bodice (I can't remember which, we ended up changing it slightly anyway). The bodice has interfacing in the middle and lining on the inside (except for the front pieces, where the interfacing ended up on the outside and the lining is in the middle - this is why it is good to be awake when we sew). The bodice is closed with a zipper and has 6 buttons on in that green cord laces around. The skirt is pleated onto the waistband and it closes with 5 or 6 hooks and eyes.

Oh wait, there are 4 pieces: there is an apron. Again, no pattern, just some meauring and yeah. It is gathered on the waistband, and ties in the back.

I think everything is made out of cotton. The apron and the blouse definitely are, and I believe that the drapery fabric used for the skirt and bodice is a cotton of some sort. (It is really, really nice fabric. I dont think any of the pictures do it justice.)

There are pics below, the first ones are from the Ren Faire, the second "set" of pics are from a Halloween Party this year. They should all link to their orginal size.

And they are NOT CURTAINS ;)
