| Little Mermaid Peasant Dress October 2006 Madeit for a Halloween Party that our school had. And, one time, we all had this crazy idea to dress as Disney Princesses. It'd still be awesome ... and it's something we'll have to work on. Anyway ... Donna picked this one for herself, and we sort of pulled stuff together for this. For example, the white shirt she's wearing originally went with my brown ren dress. Come to think of it, I think the skirt did too. This was done mainly to save on cost, cause deep down, we're all poor college kids. So, for the corset-like thing, well I think I just sort of winged it, since I dont remember following an actual pattern. It's made out of 2 layers of heavey black fabric, and it's lightly boned (at the sides, back where it laces, and the front - from bottom point to the top "curves" of the "heart"). |
| Blue Renaissance Fall 2005 I'm pretty sure that this was one of the slew of Halloween costumes that I did. I used pattern Simplicity 5843, view C, and just about down to the last detail. I unfortunately do not have any of the pics on a body (again, my own fault) and so please excuse the ones of it on a hanger. Shift/Long Dress: Navy Blue cotton, it's floor length. Neckline is gathered onto fabric. Sleeves are long and are pointed. Tabard: Lighter blue cotton. We bought some silver cord which runs along the entire tabard, and it also makes the arm ties. The top part of the tabard is a thin silver (lame? tissue lame?). Anyway, looking at it now, the pattern could be very Gondorian, with a few more layers, and richer fabrics. Hopefully I'll get some pics eventually of this on a body one day. ;) |
