I am stupid. I talked with Sarah a while ago and she figured out exactly what she wanted. I'm stupid because we were looking at patterns and i thought that i was just going to have to do a lot of modifications to a certain pattern, but no. the other day (sometime last week) I found the perfect pattern that i had ... found it while i was cleaning and packing stuff from school. my room is still a bit messy. so anyway ... we have a pattern. it's
Butterick 3552 (she likes the one on the right) and i bought it one weekend while there was a pattern sale at JoAnns. now we just have to get the undergarments figured out, and then bring on the duct tape!

The dress has been done. I started (and got most of it done) before I came back to school (think August 2006). She finally decided on what she wanted, and we got fabric and she actually had a GOOD reason to wear it. And she found a good reason to wear it again. :)

So, since I decided to finally do some updating, I figured that I would work on this page and get this mostly done. The Dress is a royal blue cotton poly blend, and for the most part (for every part?) I followed the pattern. Actually, I did follow the pattern except for the back, I made it lace up (don't recall if the pattern wanted laces or a zipper) and I think that's it. It's lined to the waist, and the sleeves are bag lined in a brown cotton poly blend also.

It needs some work though, and I haven't had the time (and now the dress is at home) to look at it, but the shoulders/neckline needs to be taken in (I didn't have time to take the whole thing apart before) and I have to take it in and figure out why it didn't slip on like it was supposed to. I'm kinda thinking that the back slit just wasn't long enough. Or, I could have made some stupid mistake while taking it in the night before ;)

Sarah also said that that if she were to wear this again (which she will ... the only way she'll get out of this is if she gets a new dress) the train would need to be picked up. Which isn't hard at all, I have something to hook it up with at home I think.

Well, that's about it. There wil be pics below eventually. All pics should link to their bigger size.
